I want this. I need that. I wish I could get that. The list of things and experiences we desire to manifest in our lives is perhaps as old as humanity itself. But most people do not manifest their true desires. It begs the question why this is so? Manifestation is not simply about wishing for something external to appear in our lives; rather, it is about embodying the experience of already possessing that which we desire. This distinction is subtle but profound, and the difference between “manifesting to get” and “manifesting from already having” is key to unlocking true manifestation. If fact, this is such a profound and transformative law, that I request you re-read these last two sentences again before you move on.
To manifest effectively, we must first shift our understanding of what manifestation truly is. When most people attempt to manifest something—a new job, a relationship, financial abundance—they often do so from a place of lack. They think, “I want this because I don’t have it.” Unfortunately, in doing so, they inadvertently strengthen the very state they are trying to escape: the state of not having. Focusing on the absence of what we want only serves to magnify that absence. The universe, in its endless mirroring capacity, responds not to our desires but to our energy and frequency.
Consider this: when we manifest to get something, we are essentially saying, "I want this because I do not yet have it." This frame of mind keeps us trapped in the identity of the one who wants rather than the one who has. This desire for acquisition confirms and perpetuates our state of not having what we want. Paradoxically, the more we chase after something, the more we affirm its absence in our lives. And as we affirm the lack, we receive more of that lack.
In affirming lack, our energy is lack. We are putting lack out to the universe. The Law of Attraction is always working! The universe responds to our energetic frequency, not to our verbal wishes. If our vibration is tuned to lack, it will bring us experiences that mirror this absence, no matter how fervently we wish for the opposite.
The secret to true manifestation lies in a radical shift in perspective: rather than desiring from a state of not having, we must embody the state of already having. This is not an exercise in fantasy but the practice of evoking our imagination and aligning ourselves with our desires as though they are already real.
To understand this, let’s use an analogy. Imagine your mind as a frequency transmitter. If you tune your mind to the frequency of “I already have financial abundance,” then you begin to feel, act, speak, and think like someone who already possesses abundance. You carry yourself with confidence, make choices aligned with financial security, and relate to the world with generosity rather than scarcity. In doing so, you create a reality that mirrors this inner experience of abundance.
But how do we begin to embody this state when our physical reality seems to show us otherwise? Here are some practical steps to shift from wanting to having:
1. Identity Redefinition: Begin by redefining yourself not as someone in pursuit of an outcome but as someone who already embodies it. Say, “I am abundant,” not “I want abundance.” When we declare, “I am,” we anchor our identity in the present reality of our desires.
2. Act as If: This doesn’t mean spending beyond your means or pretending. Rather, it means acting as though you are already aligned with the frequency of what you desire. How would someone with that reality think, act, and interact? Aligning actions with our desired outcomes creates a feedback loop that reinforces our new identity.
3. Shift from Desire to Gratitude: If you desire something, start by practicing gratitude for it as if it’s already present. Gratitude reorients us to abundance, reminding us of all that we have. For example, instead of saying, “I want a fulfilling relationship,” express gratitude for the love and connection that already exists in your life. This expands your perception of connection and brings you closer to manifesting the relationship you seek.
4. Visualize as a Completed State: Rather than visualizing your desires as a distant future, visualize them as a current reality. This shift in perception influences our subconscious, training it to recognize the feeling of having rather than wanting.
5. Detach from the Outcome: True manifestation doesn’t mean obsessing over a specific outcome; it’s about allowing the universe to unfold in alignment with our state of being. When we let go of attachment to any particular outcome, we make room for our highest good to manifest, often in ways that exceed our expectations.
When we embody the state of already having, we no longer act as beggars of the universe; we become co-creators with it. We shift from a “doing” state to a “being” state. Rather than chasing after reality, we generate it through our own state of existence. This is why manifestation is an “inside-out” process. The world outside is a reflection of our inner state - always - and by transforming our consciousness, we shift our external reality.
To manifest from a place of already having, then, is to acknowledge the self as the source of creation. You are not merely trying to pull something into your life; you are bringing it forth by aligning yourself with its frequency.
The Power of “I Am”
“I am” is the most powerful declaration you can speak. It signifies not a fleeting desire but a state of being. To say “I am wealthy,” “I am loved,” or “I am fulfilled” is to anchor your identity in these truths. The “I am” affirmation is a declaration to the universe of who you are, not what you wish to become.
Remember, manifestation is not about bending the universe to your will but aligning with the universal flow that is always abundance. When we embody the experience of already having, we open ourselves to receiving not as seekers but as aligned beings. True manifestation flows not from striving but from residing in the truth of who you already are.
In closing, I urge you to consider that which you desire most. Do not wish for it or chase it as if it is somewhere outside of you. Instead, embody it. Know that it already exists within you as a potential waiting to be recognized. In doing so, you will discover that manifestation is not about acquiring but about revealing.
You are a divine spiritual being, a creator, having a human experience. The art of true manifestation is simply the process of realizing your truth.
